A demo has launched for Spray Paint Simulator
Spray Paint Simulator is the opposite of PowerWash Simulator. In one, you clean and add colours to items; in the other, you clean muck to reveal what is already underneath. Spray Paint Simulator seems more artsy. As a bonus, Whitethorn Games is publishing the game and it puts a lot of focus on accessibility features! The town of Splatterville needs a makeover, and that’s when you come into the picture. Start a painting business and head out for adventure in Story Mode, with eclectic customers needing your skills. Every job begins with prepping the space and selecting/spraying colours. Tools, vehicles, and equipment can be upgraded as the story progresses.
The demo encompasses your first job in Story Mode and a bit of Free Mode. In Story Mode, buy what you need, prep the area, choose a colour based on the client’s preference, and paint away! When you’re done, remove any tape and paper to reveal your handiwork. Free Play allows you to choose from several unlocked colours, so paint to your heart’s content using your own visions for inspiration. If you get bored, explore the area to find hidden secrets.
Developed by North Star Video Games and published by Whitethorn Games, Spray Paint Simulator will be released for PC via Steam in 2025.
Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley is coming to PlayStation and Xbox, plus DLC is on the way
Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley is already available for PC and Nintendo Switch (you can read Matt’s review here), and last week it was announced the cozy musical adventure will also be launching for PlayStation, Xbox, and Windows. The game expands on the Moomin world and is accessible to current fans and newcomers alike. Head out for a wholesome journey to restore harmony to the world, where you’ll have to get the Park Keeper and his awful Parks out of the Moominvalley using a harmonica, some stealth skills, and your friends’ help. The stories and quests involve characters inspired by Tove Jansson’s work.
But wait, there’s more! (I love saying that.) New DLC has been announced for Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley, Fuddler’s Courtship. This pocket-sized adventure (also described as a novella-like story) is set against the backdrop of autumn. A new friend, Fuddler, needs help to express his feelings. Join Snufkin and Moomintroll on a camping trip in the deep wilderness. It should be relaxing but turns into a chaotic and romantic journey.
Developed by Hyper Games and published by Raw Fury, Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley is available for PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch. There is no announced release date for its new PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Windows versions; nor is there one for the Fuddler’s Courtship DLC.
A new gameplay trailer for Ruffy and the Riverside has been revealed
Ruffy and the Riverside was one of my favourite titles from Not-E3 2023, and I remain excited through every update. The hand-drawn open-world platformer follows Ruffy on a quest to stop a mischievous villain named Groll, who wants to create mass chaos by destroying the World Core. The gameplay revolves around Ruffy’s magical SWAP power, letting you copy and paste textures in-game. Last week, a new trailer was revealed during The Mix Fall Showcase 2024, giving potential players a good look at how SWAP works.

Ruffy is the Chosen One, the only one with the SWAP power. You can manipulate objects at your will: change ice into lava, waterfalls into vines, or the sun into the moon. Need to get across water? Turn a stone into wood and create a boat. Need to get to the other side of a wall? Swap it into rubble. Collect more treasures after the 3D world ends and 2D levels begin. It will require cleverness to use SWAP to unlock new paths.
Developed by Zockrates Laboratories UG and published by Phiphen Games, Ruffy and the Riverside will be released for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series in early 2025.
Seaside mystery game On Your Tail launching for PC in December, Nintendo Switch in early 2024
Cozy detective life sim game On Your Tail was originally set to launch last week, but two days before that date, a delay was announced for both launch platforms. The developer posted the announcement on Steam, alongside an explanation: “So this is awkward… we’re sorry for the very short notice but we want On Your Tail to be the best experience possible for the players, so we have made the difficult decision to slightly delay the game in order to make your trip to Borgo Marina even more unforgettable.” So the game is now set to launch for PC next month and Nintendo Switch early in the new year.

On Your Tail puts you in the role of Diana, seeking inspiration in the vibrant Mediterranean town of Borgo Marina. She gets derailed from her goal when she finds herself drawn to solving a series of mysterious crimes. Luckily, Diana is an aspiring detective and knows what to do: find clues, solve puzzles, and navigate the narrative. It’s not all work, as Diana can relax by swimming in the ocean, trying her hand at marbles (and other mini-games), or selling gelato.
Developed by Memorable Games and published by Humble Games, On Your Tail will be released for PC via Steam on December 16 and Nintendo Switch in February 2025.
