Past collaborations between Eastasiasoft and Idea Factory have been quite good. There are many in recent memory, including titles such as Moero Crystal H and Hakuoki: Chronicles of Wind and Blossom. Today, Eastasiasoft announced that the Compile Heart-developed dungeon-crawling JRPG Tokyo Clanpool will be ready to launch for PC and Nintendo Switch this December, localized in English and Traditional Chinese for the first time.
In the near future, the Tokyo government collapses after a mighty tower appears, stretching from the mysterious Reverse City in the sky and connecting with the National Diet Building. Monsters threaten the country’s citizens. Newly inaugurated Prime Minister Natsume Kannuki has to watch her ratings while leading her Diet Dolls (her cabinet) into battle with the monsters.
Try to contain the monster threat (and learn of its origin) by taking the party of heroines deeper and deeper into the tower. Navigate maze-like corridors with a first-person view and experience fast, strategic turn-based combat. Customize characters’ skills and abilities by equipping Digiskins. The team has ether-based powers, allowing them to break walls, float, or dig tunnels to alter the dungeons.
As Prime Minister, keep a close eye on your approval ratings. Favourable actions will earn you valuable bonuses. Low ratings could cause the entire cabinet to resign.
Tokyo Clanpool has two physical editions (for Nintendo Switch) available through Playasia. The standard version is the game itself. The Limited Edition (only 3,000 total) includes the game, a manual, a soundtrack on CD, an art book, a sticker sheet, a poster, a numbered certificate, and a collector’s box.
Originally developed by Compile Heart (a subsidiary of Idea Factory), Eastasiasoft’ localization of Tokyo Clanpool will be released digitally worldwide for PC via GOG and in Japan for Nintendo Switch simultaneously sometime in December. The Nintendo Switch version of the game will launch later in the West.
