There must be near-infinite content updates planned for PowerWash Simulator. Since its 2022 launch, new content includes two Muckingham updates, free seasonal content updates, free Tomb Raider DLC, free Midgar DLC, SpongeBob SquarePants DLC, Back to the Future DLC, Warhammer 40K DLC, and most recently Alice’s Adventures DLC. The best thing about these updates is that many cost nothing to the player but a bit of time and internet bandwidth. Today, developer FuturLab and published Square Enix Collective announced PowerWash Simulator’s second washer-versary celebration; it includes three free new updates for the game on PC, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox. (So basically everything but its VR version.)
Here’s a summary of PowerWash Simulator in case anyone knows little about it: stuff gets dirty, wash stuff, earn cash, upgrade gear, then do that all over again many times. It is that simple. It’s a first-person view so it’s like you’re the one holding the hose. Certain types of material (like glass or metal) may be easier to clean with a cleaner involved along with the pressure. You will clean cars, entire home exteriors, a subway station, a public washroom, and more. The game is relaxing and quite fun, at least to me.
Muckingham Files Part 3 features two new aquatic levels:
- Clean the Aquarium is a multi-room job that requires climbing into enormous tanks to wash them. That sounds like lots of grimy glass! Funny information boards around the Aquarium reference other jobs and the city’s “unique” ecology. You’ll even get to see some swimming fishies!
- Clean the Submarine includes some phenomenal details in the submarine dirt. Tentacle marks can be found on the underside, ink splats on the front, squiggles on the underside hatch, and so much bird poop. The clean team spent extra effort creating a walkway across the front of the submarine so its face is more accessible to clean.
While Muckingham Files Part 3 is a huge part of what is available for this celebration, there are two more updates to follow. Cruise Ship Sun Deck continues the Seasonal map series and includes one big cleanup that’s all about summer fun. Muckingham Files Part 4 brings two more job sets in everyone’s favourite (and filthy) fictional town.
Developed by FuturLab and published by Square Enix Collective, PowerWash Simulator is currently available for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series, and Xbox One. Muckingham File Part 3 is available now. The Cruise Ship Sun Deck and Muckingham Files Part 4 updates will launch during the coming months.
