Early in November, The Pokémon Company announced that Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s second DLC – The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 2: The Indigo Disk – would be released on December 14. One week away! Players will soon be traveling to Blueberry Academy as an exchange student. Today, Game Freak and The Pokémon Company released some more details about the second chapter of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC, including information about the Synchro Machine, the power of flight, and Legendary Pokémon.
After progressing far enough in The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 2: The Indigo Disk (specifically, after helping a scientist in the Terarium with her research), players will be able to use a device known as the Synchro Machine to see the world through the eyes of their Pokémon. Synchronise with one of your Pokémon, then move around and battle wild Pokémon. The Synchro Machine does still appear to be a prototype.
Two Legendary Pokémon, Koraidon and Miraidon, will be able to fly for the first time when players take on the Elite Trial set by Amarys of the BB League Four Elite. The power is believed to be temporary, but may be able to turn into a permanent thing once players make it far enough in their adventure. Once a Legendary Pokémon can fly, players can fly wherever they please and enjoy a sense of freedom in the open world.
After completing The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 2: The Indigo Disk’s main story, players will encounter a curious character named Snackworth. It turns out, completing Blueberry Quests in the Terarium can earn them snacks from Snackworth that allows them to encounter Legendary Pokémon from through the series back in the Paldea region. Snackworth will also share his extensive knowledge and tall tales of his heroic encounters.
For those who haven’t played The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 1: The Teal Mask, I’ll briefly recap it. This first part of the DLC brings players to Kitakami, a tranquil place of quaint rice fields and apple orchards. Join students from another academy for an outdoor study program. Travel the land in search of signboards depicting an old folktale. Meet new Pokémon and befriend new people.
Developed by GameFreak, and published by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet are available now for Nintendo Switch. The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 2: The Indigo Disk will be released on December 14.
