Invincible Presents: Atom Eve is a visual novel RPG; it’s also the first original video game set in the Invincible universe. Become Atom Eve, the superhero from the Invincible comics and animated series, and explore her life beyond the story that is already known. The game was first seen during San Diego Comic-Con this July, and today it was announced that it would be released in mid-November 2023.
Invincible is a comic book by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley. (This makes sense, as Invincible Presents: Atom Eve is published under Kirkland’s Skybound banner.) The first issue was released in January 2003, and the comic ran for 15 years and 144 issues. In 2021, an adult animated series based on the comics launched on Amazon Prime; the first season is currently available in its entirety, and the second is currently underway with weekly episodes.
The game has an original story, and features art directed by Rossi Gifford and creative direction by writer Jill Murray. Explore the life of Atom Eve in a familiar world filled with familiar characters. Eve will have to navigate her life with the Teen Team, her family, and her friends while simultaneously figuring out the best way to use her powers for good.
The player’s choices shape the relationships Eve has with those around her and will define the outcome of the story. Yep, the game features a branching storyline with multiple paths. The players can also decide how to develop Atom Eve’s skills and increase her power, unlock special combat skills, and unlock unique dialog options. The gameplay is visual novel meets RPG, with light, turn-based combat woven into VN-styled gameplay. The story should feel like a comic book brought to life.
Developed by Terrible Posture Games and published by Skybound Games, Invincible Presents: Atom Eve will be released for PC via Steam on November 14.
