Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden may be about banishing ghosts, but at the heart of the game lies true love. It is a journey regarding love, life, death, and sacrifice. The game will be launching this November, and the information available about it seems to be ramping up as we inch towards its launch. Today, a new six-minute Gameplay Overview trailer was released, discussing the game’s story and the choices the player will have to make.

In the game, players take on the role of a pair of Banishers. Antea Duarte and Red Mac Raith are experienced spirit hunters, and they’re in love. After being sent to New Eden to lift a mysterious curse and solve haunting cases, Antea is killed and becomes that which she despises the most: a ghost. Red is torn between his vow to protect the living from malicious spirits and the nightmare of Antea’s condition. Will they honour their oaths, or will they sacrifice the living to bring Antea back?

Here’s the new trailer:

Players will combine Antea’s spiritual abilities with Red’s powerful arsenal to banish souls that are tormenting the living. They’ll uncover secrets, navigate mysterious landscapes, and upgrade their gear – all while meeting memorable characters whose fate is in their hands. Choices will dramatically impact the story.

There are two physical limited editions of the game available through the Focus Entertainment Store. The Red Echoes Edition includes the game on any platform, the Wanderer Set DLC, a leather-effect notebook illustrated with Red’s memories, and an ink writing set. The Collector’s Edition includes the game on any platform, the Wanderer Set DLC, a modular statue of Red and Antea, an art book, a Steelbook, and two Banishers signet rings.

Developed by Don’t Nod and published by Focus Entertainment, Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden will be released for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series on November 7.

Lindsay picked up an NES controller for the first time at the age of 6 and instantly fell in love. She began reviewing GBA games 20 years ago and quickly branched out from her Nintendo comfort zone. She has has developed a great love of life sims and FMV titles. For her, accessibility is one of the most important parts of any game (but she also really appreciates good UI).
