Solace State launching “this summer”
I’m really excited there’s a launch window for cyberpunk visual novel Solace State, which I’ve been keeping tabs on for awhile. It was featured in the inaugural Access-Ability Showcase, where we learned that the game’s options can be toggled at any time, including on for OpenDyslexic font, and there’s a full log of previously-read text (so important to me). Solace State is all about retaining your humanity while fighting against a corporate biotech conspiracy as a young hacker. The player’s choices in building up relationships and communities can result in more or less freedoms.
Chloe is a gifted hacker looking for her missing friend while a biotech crackdown embroils the city. Friendships can be born from all sorts of circumstances, whether it be tragedy or making impactful change. Players will really get to know the colourful, queer, fashionable group of characters while navigating complex societal issues and political intrigue.
Developed by Vivid Foundry, Solace State will be released for PC via Steam, Xbox Series, and Xbox One “this summer,” so presumably before the end of September.
Hastune Miku: The Planet of Wonder and Fragments of Wishes launching for PC, but when?
Hastune Miku: The Planet of Wonder and Fragments of Wishes just came out for Nintendo Switch a month ago, and now a PC version of the game has also been announced (with no release date, unfortunately). It’s basically a collection of mini-games based around Miku and her friends. The game also features 17 songs written specifically for it.
Miku and her friends crash land on a mysterious planet during their space journey. They’ll meet all sorts of unique characters and play all kinds of games to grant everybody’s wishes. There are nine mini-games, including Button Mashing and Slide Puzzles. The goal is to collect coins and aim for a high score. Two smartphone games are also included: Hatsune Miku Amiguru Jump and Hatsune Miku Amiguru Train.
Developed by Crypton Future Media and published by Komodo, Hastune Miku: The Planet of Wonder and Fragments of Wishes is now available for Nintendo Switch and will also be released for PC via Steam.
The first trailer for Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos is here
Okay, okay, I know the Harvest Moon games aren’t really Harvest Moon anymore; I definitely prefer Story of Seasons, but I’ve still dedicated many of hours to some of the post-change Harvest Moon games. Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos is due out in a little more than two months, and this is the first live-action look at the game. It’s a farm sim, of course, but there is also a story to it. The land of Anthos was once peacefully watched over by the Harvest Goddess and Harvest Sprites, but a severe volcanic eruption threatened life and the Goddess and Sprites has to use their remaining power to keep the people and animals of Anthos safe. In the end, villages were blocked off from each other, some trapping people within. Before falling into a deep sleep, the Harvest Goddess sent out a bottle with a letter and magic key. The player ends up finding said bottle and having to revive the Harvest Goddess and Harvest Sprites, as well as reconnect the villages.
Raise different kinds of cows, chicken, and sheep. There are also exotic animals found in the wild. There are five bachelors and five bachelorettes to woo, and everyone is open to everyone. Collect seeds fro Harvest Wisps hidden all over Anthos; some of the rare ones only come out at certain times. There world can be explored by foot or on mount, and there is fast travel available through the Harvest Goddess’ Warp Statues.
Developed and published by Natsume, Harvest Moon: Winds of Anthos will be released for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series, and Xbox One on September 26.
Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical is delayed thanks to Baldur’s Gate 3
First, Starfield’s release date was announced for early September. As a result, Baldur Gate 3’s release date was pushed up by a month. And as a result of that, Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical has been delayed by one week. Bummer. The developer also states that the extra week allows them to keep performance as close to the same as possible across platforms.
Play as Grace in a world where Greek Gods live in hiding among us normal people. Grace has to unravel the mystery of the Last Muse’s death, which occurred in front of her. Draw friends, foes, and lovers into song using Grace’s powers of musical persuasion, and change her fate.
Developed by Summerfall Studios and published by Humble Games, Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical will be released for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series, and Xbox One on August 10.
