Major shoutout for Ubisoft for its accessibility efforts for this Ubisoft Forward! In English there are four live streams to choose from, including English subtitles, English audio description, and American sign language (you can find them all here). I came into this showcase not expecting a whole lot that I’d be interested in, but there’s definitely some pretty popular franchises featured.

Game highlights

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

I don’t like first-person shooters. I’ve never seen Avatar. But I recognize that this game will appeal to many. In Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, take on the wale as a Na’vi who awakens years after being abducted as a child and raised by the RDA, a human militaristic corporation. A stranger in your own home, you must deal with the RDA’s return and the threat they post to Pandora while also reclaiming your heritage and learning what it means to be Na’vi.

There are multiple ways to defend yourself against the RDA and the Western Frontier’s dangers. You have access to human weapons such as assault rifles and shotguns, as well as traditional Na’vi weapons like a bow or spearthrower. As the RDA retreats, the environment gradually heals, giving you access to new resources. This allows you to craft better gear and weapons. The companion banshee is even customizable.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will be released for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series on December 7.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

Oh look, an animate trailer showing off nothing of a game. That’s one of my huge pet peeves.

It’s time to see some gameplay from the next Prince of Persia game. Play as Saragon, a member of an elite group of seven warriors known as the Immortals. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is inspired by Metroidvanias and build on combat, platforming, and exploration. Time powers are back, along with gravity-defying stunts. Combine these skills to express your “creativity” (I’m laughing so hard at the use of that word here).

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown will be released for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series, and Xbox One on January 18, 2024.

The Crew Motorfest

The Crew Motorfest is an open-world motorsports game set on the Hawaiian island of O’ahu. Players can freely explore Honolulu’s streets, off-road down volcanoes, and race more than 600 vehicles through rainforests, beaches, and winding mountain roads.

Players can dive into different cat culture universes and complete new challenges alone, with, or against friends. The game features some of the most iconic cards ever designed, from vintage classics to electric supercars to the bran-new Lamborghini Revuelto.

The Crew Motorfest will be released for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, and Xbox One on September 14.

Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR

I’d image if you’re into VR, all the parkour involved with Assassin’s Creed would be quite fun. This is the first look at Assassin’s Creed: Nexus VR. Play as one of three iconic characters: Assassin’s Creed II’s Ezio Auditore da Firenze, Assassin’s Creed III’s Connor, and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s Kassandra. The original, centuries-spanning adventure is specifically created for virtual reality. It’s a true Assassin’s Creed game, with climbing, parkour, free running, all of that stuff.

Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR will be released for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, and Meta Quest 3 this holiday season.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage

This is what everyone is waiting for, no? What’s a Star Wars anyway? Assassin’s Creed Mirage is an homage to the first game in the series. There’s been bits shown before, and written about, but this is the first proper story trailer. What does it mean to be free? What must be sacrificed to reach freedom? How can you fulfill your destiny when you don’t know who you are?

The game follows Basim, the Hidden One introduced in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. It is a shorter, more narrative-driven game than recent entries in the Assassin’s Creed series. It takes place 20 years before Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Basim is only 17 and has fled to the Hidden One’s fortress. He learns their mysterious rituals, hones his unique abilities, and comes to understand a new Creed… one that will change his fate.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be released for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, and Xbox One on October 12.
