Some good news for the Australian and Aotearoa New Zealand racing fans: one of the leading esports competitions for racing games is open for local competitors for the first time.

The Ferrari Esports Series is a six-month-long racing tournament that brings together serious racing game fans from Europe, North America and the APAC regions. Players will take on one another in Assetto Corsa and Assetto Corsa Competizione on the journey to the final, which will be held on October 12 this year.

The first round of qualifiers will occur on July 20. Those players that progress can look forward to the APAC Regional on September 23.

“We are thrilled to welcome the Asia-Pacific region to the 2023 Ferrari Esports Series”, Annabel Rochfort, Director of Location Based Entertainment and Esports for Ferrari, said in a release. “With countries like Australia and Japan known for producing exceptional sim racing talent, we are excited to see the level of competition that this region will bring to the table. Our commitment to providing a competitive and entertaining platform for sim-racing remains unwavering as we grow our esports footprint.”

If you reckon you’ve got what it takes, registration is now open.
