When Disney Dreamlight Valley first came out in early access last year, I was obsessed for weeks. My interest in the Disney-based life sim-type game has definitely waned a bit since then, but with every update my interest is renewed. Today, the Pride of the Valley update was released, and I’m ready to dive back in to meet Simba and Nala! Lions. Aliens. Eggs. These things don’t often go together, but they’re all part of this fourth major content update to the game.
While Scar is already in the game courtesy of a past update, there hasn’t been a Lion King realm until now. Head into the castle and unlock the Lion King realm to help Simba and Nala chase away hyenas, track down tasty insects, and learn about the circle of life. These two aren’t the only ones in the valley that need help, though, so players should keep an eye on their quest log to see what might pop up.
A new Star Path starts today, themed after Disney Parks. It features items based off iconic park staples, like the Mad Tea Party attraction and Figment-shaped topiaries. There are new styles for the first time for Donald and Goofy to help spiff up their appearance. In addition, the Premium Shop has gotten new items; so has Scrooge McDuck’s store.
Animal companions have gotten a bit of an upgrade. Each one now has its own unique selfie post to capture moments together, and new items that will allow players to display multiple companions at once. Hint: check your crafting station!
There hasn’t been an in-game event since December’s, which was holiday-themed. From April 8 to 29, there will be an Easter event. New items can be claimed by exploring and completing seasonal Dream Duties, and WALL-E will have a special quest line to help out with.
Disney Dreamlight Valley is still in paid early access. It will be free-to-play later this year. It is currently available for PC/Mac via Steam, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series, and Xbox One.
