Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty now has its release date

It might not have William Adams, but it should still be good!

We are, of course, looking forward to Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. “What if Nioh but in China” is a heck of a concept. The game was only publicly announced to be in development four months ago, but now we have the release date so it feels all the more real now.

Wo Long is styled around the historic Three Kingdoms era (the Dynasty Warriors one, for people playing along), only this time it’s filled with dark fantasy elements. The character you play as isn’t a great military general, or some outlandish hero, revered by townsfolk all around. Rather, you’re a nameless and otherwise insignificant militia soldier, who must – in true action RPG nature – fight for your own survival against enemy soldiers, and malevolent demons alike. With swordplay based on traditional Chinese martial arts, the rise of status you take in this dark narrative from nobody to herodom is right there to be discovered.

If you’re planning on purchasing a copy, you’ve got a few options. In addition to standard releases on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC (via Steam), Koei Tecmo and Team NINJA have announced a Digital Exclusive Edition, with a variety of digital merch, and three separate DLCs included in a season pass.

It’ll all be available on March 3, 2023, worldwide, and will even be available via the Xbox Game Pass if you so choose.
