There’s been a lot of Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet news lately, some of it containing overwhelming amounts of information. This drop is a bit different though: it’s a single trailer focused on a single Gym Leader, Iono. And she’s arguably the cutest one I’ve ever seen, from her blue and purple hair styled into a bow to her adorable oversized yellow sweater. She’s an influencer, a streamer, and a Gym Leader. Her specialty is Electric-type Pokémon. But her partner remains a mystery.
The replies to the video feature many guesses for who her partner Pokémon is, including Jiggypuff (seen from above), Electrode, Tentacool, Basilisk, and a brand new Pokémon. Some of the guesses when it comes to Iono’s partner involves a common Pokémon that’s been Terastallized. These Pokémon take on a gemstone-like appearance and gain special power. I’d love to hear guesses from DDNet’s readers, so post a comment if you have an idea of what it may be!
Iono is just one of many Gym Leaders that players will encounter in the Paldea Region, a vast land filled with lakes, peaks, wasteland, small towns, and sprawling cities. There is no set path in the game, allowing people to move freely between three stories in their Treasure Hunt. Victory Road gives you the change to challenge Gym Leaders like Iono and achieve Champion Rank. The Path of Legends allows you to take on gigantic Titan Pokémon that guard rare ingredients. And Starfall Street has you using the Auto Battle feature to take on Team Star grunts until you can defeat their boss.
Developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo/The Pokémon Company, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet will be released exclusively for Nintendo Switch on November 18.
