Brigandine: The Legend of Runersia, which had previously released on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation, is out now on PC. This fantasy strategy game was developed by an all-star team whose members had previously worked on Final Fantasy, Xenoblade Chronicles and Disgaea, and is a must-have if you haven’t played it before… and it might be worth double-dipping just to have it on PC too.

I’m not going to re-review it, since I already covered it on both the Switch and PlayStation 4, but it is a game that I’ve never been able to quite get out of my head. I tend to bounce pretty quickly off strategy games, as soon as the next one comes along. They’re huge time commitments, and there’s very little room in my schedule to return to one once I’ve finished a campaign or two and penned my review. Brigandine, however, has joined the likes of Civilization VI and Nobunaga’s Ambition Taishi as a game I have continued to play regularly, even two years after I first did.
As I wrote in one of my reviews: “In being a streamlined and focused tactics game, and allowing those narrative and art elements to shine, Brigandine ultimately comes across as classy and elegant. The first campaign I played was with a nation whose leader enjoys moonlighting as a ballet dancer, and really, that is emblematic of the whole Brigandine experience; this is a rich, fully realised, and downright Shakespearean take on the whole genre.”
And now you can have all of that on PC! With new features, including a New Game+ option that lets you start with all the items you’d collected. I assume there will be mouse control too, and, as good as Brigandine is with a controller, I’m sure plenty will also appreciate those mouse controls.
