Nnooo returns to WiiWare with escapeVektor: Chapter 1

Australian indie developer and publisher, Nnooo, is channelling the retro vibe for its newest WiiWare title.

While the Sydney-based team generally focuses on creating DSiWare, and indeed has the excellent-looking Spirit Hunters, Inc on the way for that platform, it had previously released Pop, way back when WiiWare was new.

Pop was a great game. A simple shooting title, the game had you popping bubbles, and trying to rack up high scores. With escapeVektor: Chapter 1, you’ll still be collecting points, but this time by moving around a wireframe and avoiding AI enemies.

The game looks a bit like a funky, minimalist interpretation of the Pac Man style of gameplay, and with a brilliant art style, and Nnooo’s typically stylish approach to music, it should be a great audio/ visual experience.

It sounds like there’s a bit of meat to the game as well – 30 levels spread across five worlds. The “Chapter 1” in the title excites us too. Assuming the game plays well, that means there’s more to look forward to!

The game is out soon. In the meantime, enjoy the screenshots!
