Greg Hastings Paintball 2 is actually the third paintball videogame to bear Greg Hastings name, so don’t be confused by the number attached to the end of the title. I’m not entirely sure who Greg Hastings is or whether a professional paintballer should be considered famous enough to warrant a videogame franchise based around him. Of course, we’re still seeing Tony Hawk videogames, so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.

Capture the flag is a staple in paintball. |
"…but the character and team development isn’t even worth bothering with."
If you're going to finish the career mode(which I'm guessing you didn't?), you have to make adjustments. There's no way to make it all the way through with the lowest level players/equipment…at least from my play-time and beating the Career Mode in the Wii version.
I would say spend more time with the Career Mode, and you will start seeing how adjustments can greatly help as you advance.
BTW, I own it on the PS3 now also, and played some online multi-player with a friend last night that was a lot of fun…hoping to get some more online play either tonight or tomorrow…so if you're on, feel free to look me up: Hoj_Latte
Also, about how long did you play the game?

I didn't 100% the Career mode, but I did finish the Recball and the Woodsball tracks. I got about 75% through Speedball before I put up the review. I also spent a sizable amount of time doing split-screen Exhibition matches with my buddy and played a bit of time online, though not much.
I didn't really find the character training to make that much of a difference in the game. Equipping your team with the proper gear for each match definitely helped, but I didn't find that having 10% more balls in your hopper or being able to crawl really fast made any significant impact on the game.
My time online was probably the best time I had with the game and I suppose I should've mentioned that: playing with a bunch of other people instead of the sometimes frustrating AI was definitely more of a challenge but also a lot more fun. Maybe I will look you up and play a match or two with you! Perhaps you can change my mind!
