First-person survival horror makes a comeback in Syndrome

When two indie studios come together, magic can happen. This is what I am hopeful for in the upcoming Syndrome, and first-person survival horror game that plans to take the genre back to its roots.

Creepy, right? The player awakes on a deserted spaceship to discover the rest of the crew is dead or… well, different. Reactive enemies pick up on movement and sound while you are left to find a way to escape the ship alive.

Syndrome is being developed by the USA’s Camel 101 and Portugal’s Bigmoon Entertainment. It is expected in Q2 2016 for Linux, Mac, PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One; it will also feature Oculus Rift support.
