RollerCoaster Tycoon World delayed due to Beta complaints
RollerCoaster Tycoon World was expected to release December 10, but following its first beta test that date has been pushed back “early 2016.” In a blog post, Nvizzio and Atari state that the first of two planned betas brought up some areas of the game that need improving, and in order to do so the release date has to be pushed back. The second beta has now been pushed back to sometime mid-December, and the release date will be announced after it has concluded. Changes to the game include additional coaster builder functionality with predefined lines and curves, improved coaster test mode feedback, a fence tool, and an on-demand grid.
Telltale Games documentary available to watch for free
It seems like half the gaming news these days is based around Telltale Games. With a portfolio including The Walking Dead, Back to the Future, and Game of Thrones, they have successfully blended other forms of media into story-driven video games. Now the focus is now on the ten-year-old developer itself in Telltale Games: Story Mode, a 30-minute documentary that is part of a miniseries by Complex called Magnus Opus Games. The documentary begins with the founders working hard at LucasArts and covers the company through the current hit Tales from the Borderlands. If you have half an hour to kill, it’s well worth a watch!
Zodiac: Orcanon Odyssey now available
Surprise! The game we’ve been talking about since Matt declared it the winner of last year’s Tokyo Game Show dropped on the App Store without warning this past week. It’s an iOS-exclusive JRPG by Kobojo, who changed their entire business model from free-to-play to pay-once entirely for Zodiac. Our review will be up soon, but if you’re as impatient as I am you can get started playing it now!
Life Is Strange gets a Limited Edition boxed set
Life Is Strange is my personal favourite game of 2015, and the news that its physical release includes a boxed set has me quite literally jumping for joy. The Limited Edition includes a physical copy of the game (all five episodes), a physical art book, and select tracks from the game’s soundtrack and score. Life Is Strange also had the best music I’ve heard in a game in just about as long as I can remember, so the set would be worth it for the collection of music alone; the score is by Syd Matters frontman Jonathan Moali and the soundtrack includes tracks by Syd Matters, Brights Eyes, and Mud Flow. The set is due out January 19 in North America and January 22 in Europe, and will be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
