I already have a large collection of Hatsune Miku figurines, but after seeing the new one that has just gone up for pre-order, I’ll be dipping into my savings again. It’s not cheap, but Hatsune Miku: mebae Ver. is just gorgeous.

For just shy of $250 Australian, this 1/7 figurine, based on a illustration of mebae, if being produced by Max Factory, and was sculpted by Shining Wizard @ Sawatika.
The theme is Miku as a ballet dancer, which, as you can see, has her posing on point, and dressed in a gorgeous little tutu. Her long, beautiful hair is posed in one of the most dynamic positions that I’ve seen on a Miku figure to date.
But what impresses me most about this figure is the fine attention to detail. Miku’s body is well toned (as a ballet dancer should be), and you can actually see the muscles rippling as she strikes her pose. It’s easy to imagine she’s in the middle of a complex solo routine, so kinetic is the posing.
And her face – serious but elegant, with truly piercing eyes… many other Miku figurines really struggle to nail Miku’s personality through her face, but I think is the best we’ve seen to date.

The quality of Hatsune Miku collectibles are just getting better and better. If you want to pre-order it for yourself, I use Otaku Mode.
Do you have Hatsune Miku figurines?
