European Miku fans, never fear: Project Diva X is here!
Okay, so maybe it’s not here yet — but Sega has confirmed that Hatsune Miku will be returning to Europe as a digital title for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in Project Diva X at the same time the game is released in North America. A demo will be available for both regions and both consoles on August 9; it will feature three songs on Easy and Normal difficulties, Satisfaction, LOL -lots of laugh-, and Raspberry * Monster.
Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV hitting NA theatres in August
First comes theatres, then comes downloads, then comes a physical release: it’s an increasing pattern for the release of films, and Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV is following the trend. The film, set during the storyline of the upcoming Final Fantasy XV game, follows King Regis after his son leaves on a trip with his friends. The film opened in Japan earlier this month, and will receive a physical release there on September 30. For North America, the film will receive a theatrical release on August 19, a digital release on August 30, and a physical release on Blu-ray and DVD on October 4.
Detective Pikachu, coming to a screen near you!
Nothing makes me giggle quite like Detective Pikachu. I haven’t even played the 3DS game — currently only released in Japan — but how can I not adore a serious-faced Pikachu sporting a classic detective hat?! I’m obviously not the only one in love with the unexpected rendition of the Pokemon, as Legendary Pictures has acquired the film to Pokemon in general and will begin production on a Detective Pikachu film in 2017.
PlayStation fans of Lara Croft being awarded for their patience
I don’t think anyone was thrilled when it was announced that Lara Croft’s latest adventure in Rise of the Tomb Raider was an Xbox/Windows exclusive. Alas, one of the perks of timed exclusives is that those who are patient can be rewarded with some phenomenal updates, and Rise of the Tomb Raider will be no different when it launches for the PlayStation 4 on October 11. Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration will include Rise of the Tomb Raider (read our review here!), a new chapter titled Blood Ties (with VR support), new co-op Endurance gameplay, all previous DLC, and extra weapons/outfits. Minus VR support, all new content will also be made available for Xbox One and PC users. It’s safe to assume that Blood Ties will be the best part of the new edition/update for Rise of the Tomb Raider; Lara will return to Croft Manor to find proof that she’s the rightful heir of the estate.
