News by Matt C.

Every week, there are approximately 35656456 announcements for Switch ports of previously-released games. That’s great news for Switch owners, bad news for our wallets, and awful news for Lindsay, DDNet’s news editor.

Here’s a quick and dirty list of new Switch port announcements from this week:

  • ACA NeoGeo Cup ’98: The Road to Victory (available now)
  • Akihabara: Feel the Rhythm Remixed (available now)
  • Arcade Archive ROUTE 16 (available now)
  • Cattails (available now) (Switch review)
  • Cluedo (available now)
  • Coffee Crisis (available now)
  • The First Tree (available now)
  • Gensokyo Defenders (available now)
  • I Am the Hero (available now)
  • Marenian Tavern Story: Patty and the Hungry God (available now)
  • Mordheim: Warband Skirmish (available now)
  • Secret Files: Tunguska (available now)
  • Stardust Galaxy Warriors (available now)
  • Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery EP (available now)
  • This War of Mine: Complete Edition (available now) (iPad review)
  • Guacamelee! 2 (December 10) (PS4 review)
  • Everspace: Stellar Edition (December 11)
  • Hunter’s Legacy: Purrfect Edition (December 13) (PC review)
  • The Keep (December 20)
  • Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match DX (February 21, 2019) (Asia release with English subtitles)
  • GRID Autosport (2019) (PS3 review)

After a mobile release earlier this year, Kemco’s Marenian Tavern Story: Patty and the Hungry God comes to Switch, and it looks like a step up from that publisher’s usual fare. Casting you as the titular Patty on a culinary journey to save her family from poverty, it’s a combination of tavern management sim and strategy RPG, with a side of farming and fishing.

For anyone who likes anime girls mixed in with their tank action game, Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match DX is also heading to Switch. This is unlikely to see a Western release (the PS4 version, released earlier this year, never did), but it’s confirmed to be getting an Asia region release with English subtitles.

What are you most looking forward to?

(Important note: we’re not including announcements of Switch as a platform for upcoming games, which would usually get their own news coverage anyway. This is list is purely for announcements of Switch ports / re-releases and the like.)
