Mini Motorways gets a Spires and Tires update

Dinosaur Polo Club updates its minimalist management titles for years after launch, regularly adding new levels and features to Mini Metro and its successor, Mini Motorways. Last week, the developer announced a Mini Motorways update titled Spires and Tires that brings players on a European holiday. Explore Copenhagen, Denmark with its iconic, colourful houses. Train lines are back Since it’s such a green-minded destination, train lines make a return to Mini Motorways. Other updates to the game include new Daily/Weekly/City challenges, fresh achievements, bug fixes, and performance improvements.

“Sometimes the grass really is greener on the other side,” said Dinosaur Polo Club’s Community Manager Casey Lucas-Quaid in a press release on March 31. “We’ve always had a soft spot for Copenhagen anytime our team has visited. It’s great to honour a place we love that walks the walk of aiming for sustainable urban design, something our studio is very passionate about. This new map pairs great with our new Cinematic Mode so you can either relive or daydream your European holiday.”

Developed and published by Dinosaur Polo Club, Mini Motorways is available for Apple Arcade, PC/Mac via Steam, and Nintendo Switch. The Spires and Tires update is available now on all platforms.

City-builder Synergy leaves Early Access this month

Moebius-inspired ecosystem-focused city builder Synergy is set for a full 1.0 launch soon. In it, you live in an unknown world where you need to figure out everything on your own. Build a colony and keep the people happy, analyze your environment so you cause the least amount of damage to it, and explore new lands for resources and knowledge. Synergy has a soothing vibe with no enemies but promises to be filled with challenging survival elements.

According to a press release, these are Synergy’s key features:

  • Analyze your environment: Study the plants and other natural elements of the region to expand your Knowledge Book.
  • Broaden your horizons: Assign citizens to the research center and the hall of wisdom to launch research projects. Technological research unlocks advanced techniques, while cultural research innovates processes and civil structures.
  • Thrive as a community: Build nine unique districts around various squares by strategically placing your buildings. Leverage the powerful bonuses of each district to drive your city’s development.
Explore different regions: Gather your citizens and send them on expeditions to learn more about the world and maintain harmony with it.
  • Keep your citizens happy: As you build a thriving city, remember that your citizens’ well-being is essential for sustained prosperity.

Developed by Leikir Studio and published by Goblinz Publishing, Synergy will be fully released for PC via Steam/Epic/GOG on April 16.

There’s a new trailer for The Ancient Magus’ Bride: Midsummer’s Mirage and the Journey of Dreams

Visual novel The Ancient Magus’ Bride: Midsummer’s Mirage and the Journey of Dreams is scheduled to launch in October, yet very little information has been revealed. (At least we know it includes English and Japanese language support!) Its second trailer, posted last week, is just less than two minutes long—enough time to showcase the game’s art and music while sharing some details.

The Ancient Magus’ Bride: Midsummer’s Mirage and the Journey of Dreams’ steam page features a brief story synopsis, reading:

A non-human, living alone in the night of London. One evening, he meets a girl seeking help in the fog. She has lost her memories and knows not why she is there. In saving her from the darkness, the two become fast friends. The non-human, wishing to help his very first friend recover her memories, makes for two beings he has heard about by way of rumors among the fae: the Thorn Mage Elias, and Chise.

Developed by Mebius and published by Bushiroad Games, The Ancient Magus’ Bride: Midsummer’s Mirage and the Journey of Dreams will be released for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch on October 2.

Spray Paint Simulator will also be released for Xbox

Prior to late last week, Spray Paint Simulator was only set to launch on PC next month but now it’s been announced that the spray paint simulation game will be released on the same day for Xbox Series and Xbox One. The game could be seen as the opposite of PowerWash Simulator—instead of removing things from things, you’re adding paint to things. Build your own painting business from the ground up in Splatterville, a town in dire need of a makeover.

In Story Mode, meet with clients who require your expertise before you prep each space, choose the right colours, and get creative to keep those clients happy! Reach the high spots using various ladders and scaffolding. Your tools, vehicles, and equipment can be upgraded. There are so many places and things to paint: rooms, homes, cars, bridges, giant robots, and more. In the unlockable Free Spray Mode, you can do whatever you please to the entire town.

Developed by North Star Video and published by Whitethorn Games, Spray Paint Simulator will be released for PC via Steam/Microsoft, Xbox Series, and Xbox One this May.
