It’s that time of year again! We’re counting down the days to Christmas with our own little “advent calendar” – one new game to play over the holiday season each and every day.
As the year winds down, things get really busy. We’ve got Christmas parties to attend, the end of year rush on work, and all the rest of it. But it’s also a time where we take holidays, find a moment to relax, and enjoy the company of others. This is the best chance to catch up on some key games that you might have missed from the year… or just play that multiplayer game that you’ve been waiting to get a crew together for.
Day 13: Cupid Parasite: Sweet and Spicy Darling
The visual novel genre has really become something over the past few years. Where it was once niche (and still is, I guess), there are now hundreds of incredible games on consoles like the Switch where the main goal is, simply, to read a good story. Of all those released this year, Cupid Parasite is by a considerable margin my favourite.
You do need to have played the original to enjoy this, but if you have then you also know what you’re in for: Excellent humour, incredible art, a sublime soundtrack and just something very funky and poppy. It was actually a big inflence on my own VN (though it is going in a very different direction). So if you are in the mood for a good read this Christmas, here’s the one for you.Oh yeah
