Piczle Cross: Rune Factory will launch next year

Piczle Cross: Story of Seasons was a great combination of the Marvelous series and nonogram puzzles. Score Studios and Rainy Frog are again taking a beloved Marvelous franchise and giving it the nonogram treatment. Piczle Cross: Rune Factory brings the characters, monsters, and world of Rune Factory and combines them with the popular puzzle format.

The game features 300 puzzles, each with a classic and a colour variation. There are also 20 collage puzzles, where you use many puzzles combined to form an image; again, each has the same two variations as the normal puzzles. You’ll spend your time fighting monsters and uncovering villagers. Unlike Piczle Cross: Story of Seasons, Piczle Cross: Rune Factory gives you the ability to customize your farm and pick your spouse. You can also choose your weapons. If you’re new, the game will help you learn how to solve the puzzles. If you already consider yourself an expert, try the challenge mode.

Developed by Score Studios and published by Rainy Frog, Piczle Cross: Rune Factory will be released for PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch in 2025.

Planet Coaster 2’s launch date is set for this November

It’s been eight years since Planet Coaster launched for PC and four since it came to consoles. I’d expect most players to have squeezed every ounce out of it possible, so it’s about time for the sequel to launch! Coaster park management sim Planet Coaster 2 will be released this November. Pre-orders for all game editions are open now, and anyone who does will get a Bonus Ride Collection with three rides. The Deluxe Edition will include the Vintage Funfair Ride Pack with 10 attractions, such as an old-timey carousel and wooden coasters.

Build the amusement park of your dreams from the ground up with an intuitive building system that allows you to craft and customize every single detail of your park. And this time, there are water attractions! Keep it calm with a lazy river, or crank it up a notch by using looping flumes on water coasters. Planet Coaster 2 features new rides, themes, and scenery pieces. There are four themes to explore, including mythology to the deep sear. A new event sequencer tour allows you to amaze guests with animatronic shows. Since it is a management sim at heart, you’ll need to balance the budget, build the right amenities in the right place, and fill your park with thrilling rides. Your guests’ well-being is important, so help them with shade coverage, sunscreen, lifeguards, and enough mechanics to be sure nobody gets injured.

Developed and published by Frontier Developments, Planet Coaster 2 will be released for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series on November 5.

Featuring crimes and a cat, Paper Perjury will launch this November

Ace-Attorney-inspired mystery adventure game Paper Perjury follows would-be detectives as they link evidence and witness statements to deduce whodunnit. The fictional Azure City is about to be shaken to its core! Justina Smith, a newly hired clerk at the Azure City Police Department, slowly unveils an underlying mystery connecting a series of suspicious crimes. She will work with “eccentric” detectives Ernest Hunt and Sophie Swift to investigate crime scenes, interrogate suspects, and put together the puzzle.

Investigations will begin by collecting evidence and interviewing a variety of characters. In court, outwit criminals and catch them lying using evidence. At the centre of each mystery are themes exploring gentrification. Oh, and you can befriend a cat!

Developed and published by Paper Cat Games, Paper Perjury will be released for PC/Mac/Linux via Steam on November 13.

Spray Paint Simulator announced for PC

Spray Paint Simulator is basically a reverse PowerWash Simulator. You don’t reveal what is underneath the dirt, but you do still renew things to their former glory. It will be published by Whitethorn Games, a company that has taken accessibility issues to heart, which makes the game much more exciting for someone like me who needs options for everything under the sun. Well, “exciting”… I actually expect a rather calm vibe from Spray Paint Simulator. It doesn’t even have timers! Grab your spray tool, paint, masking tools, and ladders/scaffolding to give new life to rooms, buildings, and more. You can’t go wrong, the worst you can do is create happy little accidents.

Splatterville needs a makeover, and it’s your job to help them as you start your own business. In Story Mode, described as “whimsical,” meet with eclectic clients in dire need of your help. You then prep the space, select the colours, and let the paint fly. Tools, vehicles, and equipment can be upgraded as you progress. I already know that most of my levels will be entirely pink and purple, and I’m cool with that. Paint rooms, homes, cars, bridges, giant robots, and more. Free Spray mode unlocks your unlimited creative potential as you can paint any in town in any colour you choose.

Developed by North Star Games and published by Whitethorn Games, Spray Paint Simulator will be released for PC via Steam in 2025.

Lindsay picked up an NES controller for the first time at the age of 6 and instantly fell in love. She began reviewing GBA games 20 years ago and quickly branched out from her Nintendo comfort zone. She has has developed a great love of life sims and FMV titles. For her, accessibility is one of the most important parts of any game (but she also really appreciates good UI).
