From the creator of Final Fantasy, Fantasian launched via Apple Arcade in two parts during 2021. Even then, I hoped the RPG would be released for PC and consoles. Apple Arcade has a limited pool of potential subscribers and Fantasian was too impressive to stay exclusive to that small percentage of players. First announced during June’s Nintendo Direct, this enhanced version of Fantasian includes English and Japanese voiceovers, an additional difficulty option, and 4K support for PC/PlayStation 5/Xbox Series X. And its release date has now been set for early December!
Fantasian Neo Dimension is one of the most visually stunning games in recent memory. There are over 150 hand-crafted dioramas to explore; each was made by hand before being scanned and turned into a digital model. The game blends the physical environments and 3D characters perfectly, creating something special. So special that I’m writing about it before I even talk about the narrative.
Mechteria is a deadly mechanical infection slowly engulfing the human world, robbing them of their emotions and lives. After Leo wakes up in this strange new land — one of machines and mysteries— with only one memory and a Warp Device that was left behind, he sets off on an interdimensional journey to recover his memories and save the world from mechteria.
Fantasian Neo Dimension is a modern take on classic JRPGs and the turn-based battle system. The Dimengeon Battle mechanic allows you to send enemies you have previously encountered into a separate dimensional dungeon; this streamlines combat and makes it possible to explore uninterrupted. Find various customization options in the Growth Map; party members can be swapped here.
Players who pre-order Fantasian Neo Dimension on any platform will receive an in-game item, the Vibran Secret Stone. After being equipped, the jewel increases how much experience is earned in battle for that character.
Developed by Mistwalker Corporation and published by Square Enix, Fantasian Neo Dimension will be released digitally for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series on December 5. Physical editions will be available for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch.
