Less than a week ago, Mirthwood developer Bad Ridge Games detailed its post-launch roadmap for the medieval fantasy RPG life/farm-sim adventure game set to launch on September 11 (or September 12, depending on your region). A mere two days from launch, the title has been delayed until November. On the bright side, multiple features that were going to be coming post-launch will be included when Mirthwood finally does launch.
After moving to Mirthwood, you have to create a new life for yourself. Build your home, explore, and battle. You can choose your own pace but it is easy to stay busy with things like farm-building, harvesting, rearing animals, and investigating mysteries. Your actions will result in access to skill cards. Befriend or insult any NPC to start unlocking new social interactions, or choose to recruit them.
Bad Ridge Games posted about the delay on platforms including Steam and Discord. “We want Mirthwood to be the best it can be on day one,” the statement from Bad Ridge Games’ Daron and Brian states.” It later reads, “As a small, passionate team, we’ve worked tirelessly to create a world that you will love, but we felt there were still key areas, like performance optimization, localization, and some of the systems, that needed more work and attention before launch.”
Based on the previous roadmap, some previous updates will be part of Mirthwood’s Version 1.0, including fishing, falconry, localization, additional game content, Steam achievements, and NPC/relationship improvements.
Most of Mirthwood’s new post-launch roadmap lines up with the original. In November, the first update will include hotfixes, patches, and performance optimization. December brings the Feast and Festivities Update that adds seasonal content for Christmas and Hanukkah, festivals, new world events, and companions. The Baby Boom Update is scheduled for Q1 2025, including seasonal content for Lunar New Year and Valentine’s Day, new funeral events, marriage improvements, children/legacy system, and mod support. Scheduled for Q2 2025 and onward are multiplayer co-op and the game’s first DLC expansion.
Developed by Bad Ridge Games and published by V Publishing, Mirthwood will be released for PC via Steam on November 6.
