Create the school of your dreams when Let’s School launches for consoles in July

Or as I prefer to call it, My Time at School.

Pathea Games and PM Studios had a hit late last year with My Time at Portia sequel My Time at Sandrock, but the developer and publisher also launched school management sim Let’s School mere months prior to that. Only for PC, though, so I think it went a little unnoticed at the time. Just about a year after its PC launch (seriously, it’s almost exact), the title will be coming to consoles worldwide.

Critic reviews for Let’s School on PC are mixed, but after a year of updates its currently sitting at very positive (all time, 4,000+ players) and overwhelmingly positive (recent, 100+ players) ratings on Steam. The console versions promise all the core gameplay that is part of the PC version, creating the same rich management experience across platforms. That’s the goal, anyway. Each console version of Let’s School has been developed to be played on controllers: it has its own user interface, optimized gamepad controls, and gameplay tweaks.

Become an all-powerful principal by constructing and running your own educational establishment. You’ll have the ability to construct buildings in multiple forms, craft curriculum, hire (and fire!) teachers, run after-school clubs, adopt pets (morale and such), catch students before they set the school on fire, prevent spontaneous frog outbreaks… you know, the usual principle stuff. Run your school the way you want, guiding students to academic excellence – or not, if you’d prefer. Nearly everything is customizable, from decor to uniform logos. It’s basically all in your hands.

A career mode introduces you to the game’s features and throws you into over a dozen scenarios, each with detailed missions and side objectives. If that all sounds a bit uptight, loosen your tie and get creative in the sandbox mode where you can build anything you’d like with any function you’d like.

Developed by Pathea Games and published by PM Studios, Let’s School will be released digitally for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series, and Xbox One on July 16. It will also launch physically, with details expected later this year. Let’s School is currently available for PC.

Lindsay picked up an NES controller for the first time at the age of 6 and instantly fell in love. She began reviewing GBA games 20 years ago and quickly branched out from her Nintendo comfort zone. She has has developed a great love of life sims and FMV titles. For her, accessibility is one of the most important parts of any game (but she also really appreciates good UI).
