When Matt reviewed F1 Manager 2023 upon its launch last year, he concluded: “The presentation of the information is accessible and even elegant, but this is an enormously complex sport, and the developers haven’t found a way to translate this so it’s palatable to people who aren’t already deeply invested.” Whether or not this issue changes with this year’s edition, only time will tell. But not too much time: Frontier Developments has announced that F1 Manager 2024 will be released for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox in July.
As the player, you take on the role of F1 Team Principal. This allows you to design their own constructor and bring an eleventh team to the grid in Create A Team mode, join an existing Formula 1 team in Career mode, or recreate (or re-write) the actual live 2024 season in Race Replay.
This game marks the first time in the series that you can live out your dream team with customizable livery and logo creation tools for branding. (Granted, this is only the third game in the series. Still. First time.) Completely customize your team’s starting conditions in Team Origins; you can enter as a newcomer or attempt to rise to a title contender with an all-star lineup courtesy of a major investment.
Interestingly enough, F1 Manager 2024 also adds a new mental health-based gameplay layer with the Mentality System. F1 Team Principals have to keep every single person confident and motivated. By managing team members and their different personalities, Team Principals can directly effect driver and staff mentality. Avoid inter-team rivalries, don’t let your talent get poached, and build a legacy spanning generations.

F1 Manager 2024 comes in two versions, standard and Deluxe. Players who pre-order either version of the game will get an exclusive Create A Team preset livery replicating the F1 2024 Show Car. The Deluxe Edition expands on the game’s creative options with five additional classically inspired patterns, providing additional Create A Team livery options, and an additional five fictional Race Replay scenarios that offer unique single-race challenges.
Developed and published by Frontier Developments, F1 Manager 2024 will be released for PC via Steam/Epic, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, and Xbox One on July 13.
