It was only a couple of weeks ago that I wrote about PQube publishing The Bridge Curse 2: The Extrication in the West (you can read that here). At the time there was nothing mentioned of a release date past 2024, so I wasn’t expecting a launch date so soon. Yet here I am! The PC version of the first-person survival horror adventure is set to be released via Steam next month, while the console versions are still slated for 2024. Are you prepared to confront ghosts, complete mind-bending puzzles, and unearth a conspiracy?
The Bridge Curse 2: The Extrication takes place at Wen Hua University, which is known for its ghost tales across Taiwan. It all begins when the school’s film club decides to recruit new members by orchestrating a Carnival of Horror within an infamously haunted building on campus. Planning on resurrecting an old campus mystery, night is the only time to shoot. As the cameras begin rolling things get a little… weird. The line between fact and fiction becomes blurry as inexplicable things start to occur.
Experience the events as they unfold through the eyes of four different characters. Sue Lian is a news reporter trying to get the scoop on the mysterious happenings while three university students are stuck in their own never-ending nightmare. Through each character, encounter memorable personalities such as the bizarre Sergeant Huang to the sinister Mad Ballerina.
Wen Hua is a fully-realised Taiwanese university. Footsteps echo through winding corridors and a labyrinth of rooms while students turn to prey. Clues and items essential to unlocking the school’s mysteries can be found in the environment. Inspect each one carefully, as it may contain secrets. Gathering clues and items, as well as unearthing artifacts, brings players deeper into the university’s hidden conspiracies.
The setting itself plays an important part in The Bridge Curse 2: The Extrication. The halls are dark and amplify any sounds, so don’t make a single noise while navigating the school. The packed academic environment can be used to create distractions that open a path of escape. Worst case scenario, briefly stun the ghosts with a lantern and run quick – but the lantern has limited charges.
Developed by Softstar Entertainment and published in the West by PQube, The Bridge Curse 2: The Extrication will be released for PC via Steam on May 9. It will launch via Epic and GOG at a later date. The console versions for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series will also launch later this year.
