Class of Heroes and Class of Heroes 2 were both initially released for PSP, launching back in the late 2000s. A remaster of the first game did launch in 2018, but never left Japan. So now, fifteen years after the originals, seems like a darned good time to bring remasters of both games to PCs and modern consoles – and why not bundle them? Class of Heroes 1 & 2: Complete Edition was announced in November 2023 and the worldwide release date is now set. It’s nearly time for adventure!
The Class of Heroes games are considered classic dungeon crawlers. The games have different stories, but they also have a lot in common. Players chose from different races and courses, creating their ideal team. Teachers will help along the way. And, most importantly, there’s large amounts of dungeons to crawl and monsters to slay (or run away from).
Class of Heroes: Anniversary Edition has players taking on the role of a first-year student at Particus Academy. Study hard… but train even harder. Build up a cohort of students (AKA your party), educate them in evasion, and train them for combat. Students can be created by choosing their name, gender, class, alignment, and course. Pay attention to this, though, because your party needs to gel. There are more than 75 dungeons. Sometimes it is possible to take on the monsters in dungeons, other times it’s best to flee.
Class of Heroes 2G: Remaster Edition brings us to Crostini Academy, where exploration, combat, and endless opportunities await. Use the classes and quests to build a solid party of six. There are 10 races and 18 classes to mix and match, with each combination having its own unique skill set. The 100+ labyrinth maps contain over 250 potential enemies total. The weapons, armour, and accessories add up to over 90 items that can be equipped. There are over 200 alchemy recipes to collect and craft. And just because that wasn’t enough numbers: there are also three different schools, each with their own characters and interesting courses.
In both North America and Europe, the Complete Edition will be available physically for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. In Japan, Class of Heroes: Anniversary Edition launched for Nintendo Switch in 2018.
Developed by Acquire and published (in the West) by PQube, Class of Heroes 1 & 2: Complete Edition will be released for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch on April 26.

Very competent, if a little classic, DRPGs. The art style and dialogue make an otherwise very traditional game seem kinda goofy. Probably won’t pick these up though, as the dual-screen Vita+PS3 setup is just too cool for CoH2
I’m looking forward to having a proper version of them. I’ve only been able to play them coutesy of the, uh, high seas, previously.
