The first time Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes hit my radar was thanks to September’s Nintendo Direct, despite the fact the game was announced nearly four years ago. The strategy RPG from a studio comprised of key creators of the Suikoden series was originally set to launch in Q4 2022 and… well… here we are in Q1 2024. It happens! Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is a modern take on classic JRPGs, with over 100 playable characters ready to head through a war-torn country to save it. It will launch next month but for now there’s a new, beefy trailer to keep you excited.
Allraan is a tapestry of nations with diverse cultures and values. The land’s history has been shaped by dint of sword and magical objects (rune-lenses), as well as the alliances and aggressions of humans, beastmen, elves, and desert people. The story begins in one of its corners.
Edging out other nations, the Galdean Empire has discovered a technology that amplifies the rune-lenses’ magic. The Empire is now scouring the continent for an artifact to expand their power. On one of the expedition to find said artifact, a young and gifted imperial officer named Seign Kesling meets Noya, a boy from a remote village. A twist of fate (there’s always a twist of fate) drag the pair into the fires of war, forcing them to reexamine their entire belief systems.
Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes Features a six-character battle system, meticulously created 2D sprites and 3D backgrounds, over 100 players, and engaging gameplay. Today’s trailer features new action, new characters, and dazzling battles. It is described as “a celebration of everything fans can look forward to.”
The game will be available in standard and digital deluxe versions across all platforms. The standard edition is just the game. The digital deluxe edition includes the game, 48 hours of early access, a Season Pass (3 wallpapers, 2 headquarters paints, Seign’s Chapter, Marisa’s Chapter, and Markus’ Chapter), an Easy Journey Pack (6 healing items, 2 revive items, and 2 evacuation items), a digital mini artbook, and a digital soundtrack.
Developed by Rabbit & Bear Studios and published by 505 Games, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes will be released for PC via Steam/Epic/GOG, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series, and Xbox One on April 23.
