One of the many things that we’re looking forward to seeing in Final Fantasy XVI is how it handles storytelling, because it seems like the developers are bringing some interesting ideas to the table there that will help to make game narratives more accessible to more people.

Or, to put it another way: After FFXIII all-but asked for you to have a degree in narrative first, FFXVI looks like it’s working hard to be an experience that everyone can love.

We also talk about other notable narratives, from Xenoblade to Elden Ring, and the difference between Japanese and western storytelling.
