The partnership between Eastasiasoft and Idea Factory is going strong! First, the pair released Moero Crystal H and Seven Pirates H. Then came the cult classic Mugen Souls. Now, Mugen Souls Z will be launching for Nintendo Switch. The vibrant RPG was originally developed by Idea Factory with Compile Heart, and now Eastasiasoft is bringing the game west.
Undisputed goddess Chou-Chou is back in this sequel to Mugen Souls. She’ll try to conquer the 12 Zodiac worlds with the help of new and returning frenemies. And she and her crew navigate between worlds in their spacefaring ship, the G-Castle. They’ll have to cooperate with a new ultimate goddess, Syrma, to put an end to a recently-awakened ancient evil. The expansive worlds are packed with field challenges; players will also face off against enemy ships and meet loads of memorable characters.
Mugen Souls Z has an insane level cap of 9,999, and players have the ability to deal billions (billions!) of hit points worth of damage. It features 12 open worlds, extensive character customization, and strategic turn-based combat on free-roaming battle maps. Chou-Chou can charm enemies to transform them into minions. Players can customize party members’ appearance and abilities, as well as create unique peons by customizing body parts, faces, and job classes.
The Nintendo Switch version will include all prior extras, content true to the original Japanese release (like the hot-springs mini-game and CG gallery images), and full English language support for both audio and text. It has been remastered in HD.
The game will launch both digitally and physically. The physical edition can be ordered through Playasia beginning June 22 at 11:00 Hong Kong time. The limited physical edition will include the game, a manual, a 2-disc soundtrack, sticker sheets, an art book, and a numbered certificate in a collector’s box. A standard physical edition including just the game will also be available.
Developed by Idea Factory in cooperation with Compile Heart, Mugen Souls Z will be released for Nintendo Switch in September 2023.
