Another Otoko Cross: Pretty Boys game is getting ready to launch, and soon! Otoko Cross: Pretty Boys Breakup! fits in well with the other Otoko Cross games, Otoko Cross: Pretty Boys Mahjong Solitaire and Otoko Cross: Pretty Boys Klondike Solitaire. This one has a bit more action, of the brick-breaking variety. It also features four new characters, including a Canadian and and Australian!
For those unfamiliar with the series, here’s a crash course. The game is based on eastasiasoft’s series of Pretty Girls titles, where players complete a variety of games (one type per title) and as they progress, the girls undress. It’s flirty and fun, not raunchy at all. The Otoko Cross: Pretty Boys series takes the same premise of girls undressing but instead of girls players will be changing the outfits of boys participating in otokonoko crossdressing, which is a common theme in anime, manger cafés, and cosplay. Basically, males with a distinctly feminine manner and appearance dress like women.
Otoko Cross: Pretty Boys Breakup! has brick-breaking gameplay combined with bullet hell elements. Control a twin-tailed fighter with a Saber beam and swat a ball towards block targets above. There are different kinds of blocks; for example, some will drop power-ups and others will take multiple hits to break. As players move ahead, enemy ships will appear and fire at the fighter, propellers will deflect shots, and turrets will track the fighter’s position. There is also an enhanced Dressing Room mode (above) to create custom dioramas with characters, outfits, and backdrops that can be unlocked in a new in-game shop system. And Naked Mode returns after players have completed all 36 main stages!
Four new characters will be joining the original five: Canadian martial artist Dakota, Brazilian skater boy Faren, Australian police officer Sydney, and Hong Kong airline pilot Bao. Let’s be real: Dakota will be my new favourite. Not only is he Canadian, but I love his name. These four characters were chosen based on the four countries (not already represented) where the previous games and have been played.
Developed and published by eastasiasoft, Otoko Cross: Pretty Boys Breakup! will be released for PC via Steam on April 20.
If those keep coming I may need a secret Steam account for them.
So, funny story. There I was one day playing Honey Select 2 via Steam, and I had totally forgot that most of my family were on my Steam friend’s list… <_<
At least you have the excuse of being a game reviewer if confronted.
Me, I share my library with girlfriend and brothers. Now that would be awkward.
Too bad there’s little chance of those games coming to itch.io.
