Everything you need to know from today’s Nintendo Direct (February 10, 2022)

3 mins read

The first Nintendo Direct of 2020 is upon us! There were many guesses, both realistic to spectacular, about what we would see coming up for Nintendo Switch. But the wait is over, and we now know everything Nintendo had to share. There’s good things, there’s bad things, there are things I feel quite indifferent to – but overall it was a pretty solid presentation! Here are the best bits, as well as a full list of games referenced in the 40-minute video.

Here are the highlights:

  • Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition is a remaster of Chrono Cross. It will include the ability to turn off encounters as well as an advanced soundtrack. As another bonus, it will include the Radical Dreamers text adventure. The game will be released on April 7.
  • Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes combines the infamous Warriors series with characters from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. It is the second Fire Emblem Warriors game. The game will be released on June 24.
  • LIVE A LIVE was first launched in 1994 for Super Famicon. This is an HD-2D remake. It follows seven scenarios across multiple time periods, with unlockable scenarios linking them together. It has never been released in the west. The game will be released on July 22.
  • Nintendo looks to revive its Wii Sports success with Nintendo Switch Sports. It includes bowling, tennis, swordplay, soccer, badminton, and volleyball. Golf will be added at a later date. The game will be released on April 29.
  • Xenoblade Chronicles 3 follows the adventures of Noah and Mio while there is turmoil between two hostile nations. It seems to connect to the futures from the first two titles. The game will be released this September.
