As has become an annual tradition at DDNet, we are here to help you count down towards Christmas! One new game every day for the 24 days from December 1 to Christmas Eve. Think of it as a kind of Advent Calendar, if you will, giving you new tips and ideas for games to pick up and play at that rare time of year where everyone does have a little more time to indulge their favourite hobbies.
Also, it’s an excuse to post pictures of cute anime girls in Christmas gear every day. I won’t deny that we love doing that too.
Everyone knows that the Christmas season is the perfect time to settle down and commit to reading that book that has been sitting on the shelf all year. You’ve got holidays from work, and even though there are all the family commitments, unburdened from the daily grind for at least a short while, you’ll get at least a few precious moments to be in the right frame of mind for the sadly infrequent luxury of reading.
… And that’s why I’m going to ruin those plans by instead encouraging you to play a game! But it’s a visual novel, so it’s book adjacent, I guess. Jokes aside, Olympia Soirée is a wonderful and gorgeous visual novel, with a brilliant, winding narrative filled with amazing characters, dashes of romance, danger, wonder and adventure. It’s a page-turner, is what I’m saying here, and while it might not be Christmas-themed, it’ll fit perfectly into the seasonal schedule of activities.
