I’m a bit late with coverage of this one because it’s such a massive game, but Pathfinder: Kingmaker recently launched on PlayStation 4, and I do love this game. As someone who very much grew up with Baldur’s Gate, Icewind Dale, and other titles, Pathfinder is exactly the kind of game that hits the nostalgia points for me.
In this video, I discuss what it is about the “Baldur’s Gate-likes”, why I think this is a super-niche genre even within the boundaries of those that look to tap into nostalgia, and talk about what I like about Pathfinder in particular.
