Void Terrarium: A Heartfelt Roguelike

Void Terrarium is the latest from NISA, and it’s a beautiful and melancholic traditional roguelike. As someone who has become hesitant with the genre (every indie game thinks it’s a roguelike these days…), it is still one of my favourite genres when it gets things right, and Void Terrarium gets things so, so right.

In this video I discuss the roguelike genre and some of the themes of the game. Be sure to check out the full review later today, where I’ll go more in-depth with everything – this video was just to give you a look at how it plays. Basically, if you like Pokemon Mystery Dungeon or Chocobo Dungeon, and you’re looking for something that’s a little more mature in tone (but still so sweet), then you’re going to love this one.

It’s been out for about a week now too. Have you been playing it? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
