Dead or School finally released in western markets today, and it’s a supremely trashy – but really good fun – platformer/JRPG/fan service vehicle.
I’ve written a full review at DDNet, so I didn’t feel like running through the game itself again. Instead, I use it to segue into a more broad conversation about the frequency in which school uniforms show up in Japanese fan servicey games. What’s the appeal, what does it mean, and is it a problem?
