Hero Must Die: Heartfelt, but deeply flawed

Hero Must Die. Again is a powerfully evocative game in many ways. You play as a hero who, after saving the world from a demon, dies. As a reward, he’s granted five days from heaven to tie up his loose ends and, perhaps, have one more tryst with a great love.

It’s such a powerful concept, but unfortunately the gameplay itself doesn’t follow through on it. In this video I take a look at where the gameplay mechanics and JRPG structure of Hero Must Die don’t necessarily pair up with the strong theme and message.

If you’ve played this game be sure to let us know your own thoughts in the comments!
