Nintendo’s latest mobile effort, Mario Kart Tour, has a release date. The game will launch on September 25, for both Android and iOS.
In Mario Kart Tour, you’ll get to zoom around classic Mario Kart courses, as well as courses modeled after real-world cities. It features a one-finger gameplay mechanic, allowing you to both steer and drift with ease… and of course there are all the iconic weapons to fling around as you play. Naturally there will be online rankings as well, in order to stir the competitive spirit.
Of course, the big question here is how the game will be monetised, because with the nature of Mario Kart, the balance could be completely destroyed through microtransactions if allowed to. Fingers crossed it works out well, though, because having Mario Kart on phone is a kind of dream.
