Chile’s ACE Team has consistently been South America’s strongest performer, with titles such as Abyss Odyssey, Rock of Ages, and SolSeraph showing the team’s talent for distinctive, creative vision. The team’s newest one, The Eternal Cylinder, will be published by Good Shepherd Entertainment, and it is already one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen.
Clearly inspired by the surrealist landscapes of Salvador Dali, The Eternal Cylinder bills itself as an “open world survival adventure,” in which you take control of a horde of nose-monsters, (Trebhums, apparently), and need to explore a world of truly unique critters and environments. All the while a giant cylinder-fueled apocalypse is haunting their every step.
Starting at the bottom of the food chain, you need to evolve your nose-monsters so they can adapt to their environment and survive, while procedural generation promises such a wealth of experiences that you’ll need to play multiple times to see everything.
I’m very much looking forward to finding out more about this game. It releases on the console and PC (via the Epic Games store) in 2020, so I’m sure we’ll hear plenty more about it sooner rather than later.
