E3 Trailer: No More Heroes III is very Goichi Suda

God bless Suda-san. The world just wouldn’t be the same without his punkish blend of pop culture transgression and surreal sense of humour. I’ve been waiting for a new Lollipop Chainsaw title (or even just a HD remaster) for such a long time now, but while No More Heroes III is not that, it still looks like a wildly good time.

It seems that Suda is happy for No More Heroes to find its home on the Switch, as it’s now the second time that Travis Touchdown has been a console exclusive (this year’s earlier Travis Strikes Again being an excellent game in its own right). Rather than a side-experience, however, No More Heroes III is the full sequel, and based on the quality of the previous two, it should go down very well indeed.

The extended trailer is certainly one of the highlights of E3, for its surrealist blending of all kinds of stuff that you’d normally not expect to see go together. We have a while to wait for this one as it lands in 2020, but it’s another example of the kind of niche, oddball games that is making the Nintendo Switch the top console right now.
