Nameko, the fungus (“nameko” meaning “fungi” in Japan) isn’t exactly Hello Kitty or Rilakkuma, but he’s a popular little mascot character in his own right in his home country. Perhaps best known in the west as a sidekick on the Touch Detective games on the Nintendo DS. Now Nameko is getting his own Nintendo Switch match-3 puzzler, courtesy of D3 Publisher. It’s called Funghi Puzzle: Puzzle Explosion

From the press release:

Funghi, the detective sidekick mushroom, is now a puzzle game on the Nintendo Switch!

The rules are simple: just gather up three Funghi blocks and make them disappear. The blocks you clear make Funghis sprout on the log, and they get harvested when the log is full. Simple and fun!

You can play with either the touch screen or the controller!

This game comes out on December 20. Just in time for Christmas!
