Life is Strange continues to rule the world with impending mobile launch

Life is Strange is available just about everywhere, but the must-play title continues its rise to power with a new version specifically enhanced for mobile devices.

Black Wing Foundation is behind the iOS development, which promises full touch-screen integration, iMessage sticker, and what I’m most excited for, a new in-game photo mode to take/edit/share shots! No more screenshots for this girl! The first three episodes are available today, with the final two coming early next year.

The game is already available on – deep breath! – PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. This mobile launch adds Android and iOS to that list. I’m expecting a Switch version eventually, it’s about all that is missing from Life is Strange’s total world domination.

Hand-drawn puzzle adventure Gorogoa being released today

Gorogoa is one of the most gorgeous puzzle games I’ve seen in quite some time. Illustrated by Jason Roberts, the game consists of illustrated panels that players can arrange in imaginative ways to solve puzzles.

The game promises to a work of art by expressing its themes through soulful illustrations and distinguished puzzle mechanics. When a title describes itself as art I’m a bit concerned, so that crossed my mind here – but trust me, it’s art. Pure art.

Gorogoa is available today (December 14) on PC, Nintendo Switch, and iOS.

Aperture Science builds bridges with the help of GLaDOS

What do you get when representatives from ClockStone Software, Headup Games, and Valve all walk into a conference room? Bridge Constructor Portal. And sure, maybe that’s not exactly how the title came into existence, but what an intro it made! Anyway, last week publisher Headup Games announced it will be publishing the Bridge Contructor / Portal mash-up that lends Aperture Science to the Bridge Constructor universe. Here’s the announcement trailer:

There are all sorts of nifty new ways to build bridges now, but there’s something missing from that trailer. Can you tell what it is? The answer is clear: GLaDOS! Aperture Science’s vocal mascot and resident smart aleck will be returning to guide you in all your bridge-constructing needs. We can’t see her in action yet, but Headup Games has been kind enough to share two sound examples to whet our whistles, here and here. Yes, that is the original GLaDOS in action, voiced by Ellen McLain.

Bridge Contructor Portal won’t be in our hands until next week – December 20 to be exact – but upon release is will be available for Windows/Mac/Linux, iOS, and Android. Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One versions will be launched early next year.

Ni no Kuni II postponed until next year

I really don’t mind delays. Give the dev all the time it needs to make the game shine, I figure. Bandai Namco has announced that Level-5’s Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom will now be released on March 23, 2018. If that makes you sad, improve your mood by watching this new video of the Japanese voice actors discussing their characters:

Returning to the delay, Akhiro Hino, President and CEO of Level-5, released a statement addressing the date change. In it, he explains that implementing the new Skirmish and Kingdom modes will require some extra time to be sure everything works properly.

Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom will be released for PC and PlayStation 4 at launch.
