It’s that time of year again! The decorations are out, the house smells of Christmas thanks to the tree in the living room, presents are sitting under the tree and all the good food is on the table. We do love Christmas at DDNet, and as always, we’re doing an advent calendar of our own on the site. Each day we’re going to list one game that’s just perfect to play over the Christmas season, so be sure to check back each day to get all the gaming suggestions you’ll need for the season.
Game #23: Pokémon Go
Yes, Pokémon Go is holding its annual Christmas event, complete with the returning Santa Pikachu and the debuting Delibird. Plenty of rewards and the legendary Groudon make it a great time to catch ’em all.
Having said that, Pokémon Go is one of the few games you’ll play that actively improves your life in such obvious ways. It gets you out of the house, encourages social gatherings with family and strangers alike, and might even shave off 1 per cent of the calories you’re consuming over the holidays.
It’s probably not ideal to slosh through the snow in the Canadian winter while your battery life dies in five minutes. If the weather outside isn’t frightful, though, take a walk through your local winter wonderland.
