The Silver Case remaster releasing next month
For anyone else intensely excited for the remaster of Goichi Suda’s PlayStation One game The Silver Case, you don’t need to wait much longer. The detective mystery is coming to PC (via Steam, Playism, GOG, Humble Store) on October 7. There will be three versions available, two digital and one physical. The digital Regular Edition includes only the game. The digital Deluxe Edition includes the game, a full colour artbook, the game’s soundtrack, and a digital comic that explores the events prior to Chapter 0: Lunatics. The physical release will be limited and include the game disc, soundtrack disc, art book, comic, and manual. The Silver Case is a combination of visual novel and adventure game where the player takes over as a member if the Special Forces Unit created to find the true identity of an infamous serial killer.
RPG Creator brings RPG Maker to mobile devices
It’s easy to lose oneself in RPG Maker, but with our busy lives who has time to sit at their computer for it? Enter RPG Creator, the RPG Maker you can play during your commute (please, not while driving!) or on the toilet. Created by Degica Games, the developers of the RPG Maker games, RPG Creator will be available as both a free and a premium app on September 25. It’s iOS only for now, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that changes soon. RPG Creator allows you to create world maps of villages, castles, and caves. Default resources are available, or you can import your own. The social feature is wonderful: share your games or play those made by others!
Western release detailed for Berserk
Koei Tecmo has revealed the Western title and release date for its game based on the Berserk anime and manga series. Titled Berserk and the Band of the Hawk, the title will be released on February 21, 2017 for PC (vis Steam), PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita. This isn’t the first time that Koei Tecmo has taken on a famed anime/mange series; the company release Attack on Titan: Wings of Freedom earlier this year to mediocre critical success. Berserk and the Band of the Hawk follows a famous mercenary group fighting to own a kingdom. The game mirrors the series’ Golden Age story arc — which takes place as Griffith (leader of The Band of the Hawk) meets Guts (legendary Black Swordsman) — as well as the Falcon of the Millennium Empire arc that includes the series’ most devastating battles.
NIS America bringing Harvest Moon creator’s next game to Europe, NA
Spore didn’t do very well, but I have high hopes for Yasuhiro Wada’s next game that seems like EA’s flop meets a history lesson or two. Birthdays the Beginning is a sandbox game where players create the world in front of them by experimenting with different geographical features and the temperature for each world. When everything lines up, an entire ecosystem is born! The game is coming to PC and PlayStation 4 in 2017 as both a physical and a digital release.
