Final Fantasy Mobius coming worldwide next month
There was barely time to breathe between the last major Final Fantasy mobile release, Brave Exvius, and the upcoming launch of Mobius. Final Fantasy Mobius is, as the name implies, a full-scale Final Fantasy title designed for iOS and Android. It is produced by Yoshinori Kitase and written by Kazushige Nojima, both known for their work on Final Fantasy VII and its upcoming remake.
Some of the character standouts in Mobius so far (for me, at least) are Sarah and Echo. Sarah seems strong and stoic, a leader through a tumultuous time. As for Echo… oh Echo, I’m in love with her already; her sweet voice, flittery wings, and peppy attitude immediately draws me in. As with Record Keeper and Brave Exvius, Mobius appears to be played with your device in the vertical fashion — something that irks me as I keep trying to rotate and it’s not a possibility. I’ll still give Mobius a chance, though, when it launches on August 3. Pre-registration is open now for bonus in-game goodies.
Ghostlight bringing Compile Heart’s Mugen Souls Z to PC
Ghostlight has already brought Mugen Souls to PC, and now it is doing the same with Mugen Souls Z. We have praised the JRPG otaku series in the past for its level of extremity with everything from its level cap (no joke, it is 9999) to its style, and it is wonderful to see these games gaining new audiences on PC after they were largely limited to Sony’s platforms. The PC version will be released on Steam later this year (exact date TBD) with mouse/keyboard support, gamepad support, and enhancements to the game’s graphics and interface.
Koei Tecmo promises Berserk release on consoles worldwide
With the original announcement of Koei Tecmo’s take on the iconic mange/anime series, we were concerned that the game would only see a PC release in North America. Those fears have been squashed, though, as Koei Tecmo America has announced that Berserk (still a working title) will be released worldwide on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in addition to PC later this year. The Omega Force-developed game will combine Berserk’s … graphic … content with the Warriors series.
New Fairy Fencer F: Advent Dark Force trailer makes the release date seem impossibly far away
One week, two Compile Heart stories! How awesome is that?! Very few words are needed here because the new trailer for Fairy Fencer F: Advent Dark Force says everything for us by showcasing the environment and some new characters. The game is due out for PlayStation 4 on July 26 in North America and July 29 in Europe.
