Funcom, the legendary Swedish developer behind the critically acclaimed and widely enamored The Longest Journey, will be releasing their recent offering, The Park, on consoles. It is its first console outing in a decade (its last console game was Dreamfall: The Longest Journey on the Xbox in 2006).

A spinoff of Funcom’s earlier game The Secret World, an MMORPG released in 2012, The Park is a singe-player first-person psychological horror “walking simulator” that seems to borrow inspirations from titles of similar ilk like Bioshock, Dear Esther and Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture. You play as Lorraine, a single mother in the search for her son Callum in a closed amusement park. As you progress, you learn more about the park’s dubious past and come to the realization that everything may not be as innocent as they seem to be, including Lorraine herself.
The Park is stated to make its console debut in the first quarter of 2016 on Playstation 4 and Xbox One (via the ID@Xbox self-publishing program).
