Say what you want about multiplayer Zelda games, but nobody can deny the serious adorableness occurring in the new preview trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes.
The game features multiplayer in a variety of ways: download play, local multiplayer, and online play. Of the three options, download play is the only one that allows for multiple users using only one copy of the game. If someone without the game comes to own it, the save data will transfer over resources and outfits (up to two based on those by the game’s owner). However, download play is only available in campaign mode, not the Coliseum.
Tri Force Heroes contains 32 stages you can go at alone (accompanied by two Doppels, AI companions) or with two others through online co-op. Co-op partners don’t have to be people on your friends list. There are also 36 collectable outfits, each using unique abilities to help solve puzzles.
The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes will be released exclusively for the 3DS on October 23.
