Tropico 5 is finally coming to Xbox One
Two years after its initial release, and after being available on just about every other system imaginable, Kalypso has announced that its much-loved city builder Tropico 5 will be coming to Xbox One early next year. We thought Tropico 5 on PS4 was great, so it’s about time to share the love! This won’t just be bread-and-butter Tropico 5 though: the Xbox One Edition contains the entire base game plus several add-ons (Bayo del Ofato, Big Cheese, Mad World, Generalissimo, Joint Venture), an expansion pack (Waterborne), and five exclusive sandbox maps.
Eerie top-down puzzler One Upon Light set for worldwide PS4 release
In an indie partnership dreams are made of, Rising Star Games is pairing with Singaporean developers SUTD Game Lab to bring One Upon Light to the western market. The game won two awards at the 2014 Tokyo Game Show, and we are beyond excited that it will be made available in Europe and North America as well as Asia. One Upon Light takes place in a ruined science lab where you have no idea who you are or why you’re there, but you do know not to enter the light. SUTD Labs are based at the Singapore University of Technology and Design and this is their first commercial title. Here’s to a bright future for the young developers (pun absolutely intended)!
The Banner Saga: Warbands announced, Kickstarter coming soon
Independent game studio Stoic, miniatures board game creator MegaCon Games, and video game publisher Versus Evil have announced The Banner Saga: Warbands, based on The Banner Saga franchise of video games. While production is already underway, no other details are available at this time. Expect a Kickstarter campaign to be announced soon! In the meantime, check out our reviews of The Banner Saga on PC and iPad.
ZombiU becomes Zombi, coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One
2012’s Wii U exclusive ZombiU is no longer exclusive: it will be available digitally for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on August 18 under the title Zombi. Ubisoft says the game has been optimized for the systems. Local multiplayer has been removed, among a few other changes such as new weapons. For everyone wondering how the game will work without the Wii U’s gamepad, your concerns are valid: Hélène Henry (Zombi’s producer for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One) has explained that the backpack will now be opened with a dedicated button while still not pausing the game, and the menu will appear and fade as required during gameplay.
